Layla came to us as an owner surrender, and since arriving, staff have taken the time to properly assess her behavior and personality. She has shown herself to be comfortable with people, easy to handle, and responsive during interactions. While she has shown little overall interest in other dogs, she can be selective at times, which may be influenced by the fact that she has not yet been spayed and went into heat shortly after arriving at the shelter. Layla is likely not a good fit for a home with cats, but she has not displayed the severe behaviors that were initially described. She is a strong girl who will benefit from clear structure, continued guidance, and leash support, and she deserves the opportunity to be known for who she truly is.
